Tool- Lateralus 

The new Tool CD was perhaps one of the most anticipated releases this year.  Maynard James Keenan's side project, A Perfect Circle, wetted fan's appetites for Tool.  But to those who saw Mer De Noms as a prediction of Lateralus were more than mistaken.  
Tool have created a masterpiece as only Tool could.  At first listen, Lateralus seemed like a long, drawn out CD with epic songs and random noises.  But after you hear it for all it is, it's addictive.  The songs, ranging from 1 to 10 minutes each, are masterfully written and Keenan, with his ever so perfect voice, completes the auditory painting.  In short, this CD kicks ASS!  I can't stop listening to it.  If you have yet to buy it, go to your local music supplier and get it for the sake of your own ears.  --Marina Rudduck
